Indiana University has a proud tradition of supporting student success—and scholarships are a huge part of that tradition. Whether you’re an admitted freshman, transfer, or nontraditional student, a current IU Bloomington student, or a future Hoosier working toward admission, we’re here to help you find opportunities to fund your IU degree.
Funding your future
Your next steps
If you’re applying to IU as a first-year student, follow these steps for the best chance at scholarships to help fund your education.
1. Submit a complete application for admission to Indiana University Bloomington no later than November 1.
All applicants who meet this deadline will be considered for IU academic scholarships.
2. File your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by February 1 to be considered for need-based scholarships.
3. Submit your IU Scholarships Application through the IU Scholarships task in One.IU.
All scholarship recipients will receive notification via email by March 15. Students should utilize information in their Financial Aid Summary post March 15 for enrollment decisions.
4. Browse Non-IU Scholarships to keep searching for more scholarships you might be eligible for.
Tip: Students can complete the IU Scholarships Application each year to search for additional scholarship opportunities.
By deciding to go to IU, I knew I was going to get an exceptional education that was also incredibly affordable. This helped me be sure IU was the school fo rme. Go Hoosiers!
